UPSC CSAT Exam Pattern 2027

CSAT is the General Studies Paper II of the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination. It is a qualifying paper under the present examination pattern, which means that candidates need to secure the minimum qualifying marks prescribed. Only then will their performance in General Studies Paper I be considered for the next stage. 

Each question carries 2.5 marks under the current 80-question, 200-mark structure. The qualifying threshold of 33% corresponds to 66.67 marks out of 200.

CSAT requires a combination of conceptual understanding, reading ability, accuracy and time management.
